Dont let the lobby fool you.... A review of Cincinnatian Hotel
As a business traveler and frequent traveller, I have learned you are bound to have some high points and low points. On our recent trip to Cincinnati for a wedding, we opted to try and stay somewhere unique and away from the actual designated hotel. After seeing the ratings and overall description I felt like this was what we were looking for in a hotel. I agree with the other review that stated a family member must be writing other attached reviews.
The hotel is very unassuming from the outside and has a very old world appearance. The staff at the door and desk was great. The lobby is not large but very stunning and has a very classic vibe. Then we got to the room...
I opened the door and was immediately surprised by the size of the room, which was very small- even by dowtown Chicago and NY standards. However, what made it hard to get past the size of the room was the quality of the furnishings, fixtures, and overall decor. The bathroom fixtures looked very mid-80s and there was mildew where the tub meets the wall. All of the lighting was very mid-range hotel quality and did not match. Walls were somewhat chipped and worn and ceiling was an unusual unwelcoming shape.
I will stop there because my disappointment still lingers. I have never written one of these reviews and use them to help make choices. I only hope that this will help someone look elsewhere before spending $250 on a hotel that is maybe worth $100 on downtown location alone(remember- theis is Cincinnati, OH). PS- the Westin and Hilton are equally close to this area and you can access all you can from this hotel.
