Don't stay here if you have a lot of luggage. A review of Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel
We learned the hard way that this hotel has only one bellman (and not enough luggage carts), which in effect means that you have to be prepared to carry your own luggage. When I asked the manager how a hotel that calls itself "Airport Plaza" can get away with having only one bellman, his response was that the hotel is not really an airport hotel, it's a business-oriented hotel that happens to be near the airport (you can't make this stuff up). In the end, the manager carried our luggage himself, and gave us vouchers for free breakfast in the morning. Apparently this is a cheaper way for them to handle the problem than to hire adequate bell staff. Breakfast came in the form of an ambitious buffet, but everything was cold. When my wife asked the waiter for a new cup of coffee (because it was cold too), he offered, with a straight face, to put it in the microwave for her. I'm glad I didn't pay for breakfast. This is a shame, because the hotel is convenient and rather pretty. If only it were run properly.
