Don't expect anything great! A review of Hilton New York JFK

Checked in at 1am for 1 nights stay. Had requested a King bed on a high floor.

After returning from a stay in Las Vegas, this hotel seemed like a real let down...

On checking in the hotels 'system' was down and the guy on reception had to manualy check us in - by looking at scruffy torn bits of paper showing room details.

Was given a room on the 10th floor but with 2 doubles. Had some good views of the airport and was fairly clean but somewhat dusty around the edges. Didn't dare look under the bed. The shower took 10 minutes to get hot.

The corridors were quite shabby and in need too of a good hoover.

After a good nights sleep we went down for breakfast (included). Enjoy our scrumptious full american buffet breakfast located in beautiful surroundings - it said in the lift going down. Restaurant too needed a good hoover, no atmosphere, shabby and their were flies around the food which tasted like it had been sitting there for days.

On checking out, the system was still down so the receptionist said she would fax me confirmation of my final bill which should have been $150. We had to hurry as the hourly shuttle to JFK was waiting to leave and the driver did not want to wait around.

The bus was old, slow and extremly uncomfortable - just as well I didn't eat much breakfast!!!

When I arrived home to the UK today, I checked my Credit Card bill on-line to find that they have charged me $225. Let's see how long it takes them to sort this mess out.

All in all, a very basic hotel. Ok for 1 nights stay between flights, ask for a high floor room and beware of the breakfast buffet.
