Don't be fooled! A review of Wequassett Resort and Golf Club
This was supposed to be the nicest hotel stay of a 10 day trip. It was the worst! After viewing their website we expected a luxurious resort worth the $400 a night price tag (off-season!). We purchased and checked into a water view room. The décor loosely resembled the pictures from the website but the size of the room was noticeably smaller than it looks in the picture. Worst of all, after twenty minutes the smell of cigar smoke left over in the room was so overwhelming that we were forced to request a room change. Even though the hotel parking lot was empty the front desk claimed they could only offer us a lesser room if we insisted on moving (they thought housekeeping could "mask" the odor). After another twenty minutes they agreed to move us but did not apologize for the inconvenience. The new room did not have the water view we had come for and although it smelled better its amenities were far from what you would expect from a four-star resort. The tile on the bathroom floor was loose, the toilet tissue reminded me of public school, the towels were scratchy and small, the shower drain didn't drain fast enough, and the sheets were worn and rough. It felt like camp. We had planned to enjoy our room for the entire following day, but instead just moved on to the next leg of our trip as soon as we woke up.
