Do not stay here Thursday through Saturdays! A review of Courtyard By Marriott Nashville Downtown
I know that this review will seem a little blunt, and I usally try and write nice things about these hotels when I am doing a review, but I had just a horrible stay at the Courtyard Nashville Downtown, that I have to just get it out. I was there from a Wednesday through Saturday, and I think I got the two worst nights of sleep in my life on Thursday and Friday nights. Across the street from the hotel, facing the side of the building that my room was on, is a dark alley filled with nightclubs and bars. From between 2am and 3:30am the entire street and alley was full, and I mean packed, with loud, drunk, screaming people, and a couple hundred cars and taxis picking them up, each basting their car horn.
When I called down to the front desk the first night at 3am to ask what was going on, the reply I got was "Oh, nothing special." When I asked about it the next morning, I was told there was nothing they could do to control public crowds next to the hotel. The way I see it, if they know that goes on every night, they need to beef up the glass in rooms on that side of the hotel to keep out the noise. I've stayed in hotels in NYC, LA, SF, and never once have I been woken up like that by street noises.
For a better bet try the Renissance Downtown Hotel. My convention was there, and it seemed like a much nicer hotel, and the staff was great there!
