Disappointing A review of Lime Tree Bay Resort Motel
Just returned from the Keys after a beautiful 5 days, 4 nights. I traveled with my daughter to get a little sun and relaxation. I was not expecting a luxury resort by any means, but, I must say, after reading a couple of very flattering reviews for the Limetree was looking forward to four nights in a little bit of paradise. We were very disappointed. I should have paid attention to the "2 star" AAA rating. The review that particularly excited us said that The Limetree Bay Resort, in Layton, Long Key, was "the finest budget place to stay in the Keys", that they "could easily charge twice as much for its sparkling rooms" (our feet were black after walking on the tile floor in our room barefoot for only a few minutes), it had a "great pool and jacuzzi" (pretty rundown) and a "sandy sunning beach"(more like a sand box) and had "the look and feel of a small luxe resort". NOT!! I must say that the staff were lovely, apologized, and they did refund my money for two nights that we did not stay there (we went elsewhere). This place absolutely has the potential to be all of the above, but I'm afraid has a way to go.
