Disappointed A review of John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort
Spent 3 nights at the Nugget in June for a conference. Requested a club level room which advertised secure access, special in-room appointments such as live plants, nightly turn down service and extra amenities.
Thought my room in the East tower was horrible, old and tacky. The extra amenities were a joke and not worth an extra $20 per night. The lonely single plant was sad and one step away from death and turn down service was non existent. My recommendation is that you request a room in the West tower where the rooms are quite nice. I visited another conference attendee and saw the difference in the room quality. If the hotel cannot guarantee a room in the west rower, I would choose another hotel. Rooms in the old tower should not be rented. The furniture was old, stained, chipped and badly in need of replacement, hallway carpet was torn and coming up, room was poorly cleaned. There was a train yard on the side of the hotel where I stayed and the noise of trains adding cars all night was very irritating when trying to sleep. Asked to change rooms and they could not accommodate me. Complaining to the front desk was met with "so, what do you want me to do about it". I did however contact the hotel when I returned home and was given a credit for the extra $20 per night to be on the club level.
