Disappointed with our room A review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Fireside Inn on Moonstone Beach
We stayed at the Best Western Fireside Inn for 2 nights, September 7 and 8, 2003. We had booked a king bedded room with a fireplace at a AAA discounted rate. The first room we were given was in the back. When we opened the curtain our view was of a chain linked fence and the cars driving by on Hwy 1. We call the front desk and they had one other room to offer us. It was next to the office. We moved to it, but it was dark, as the window was next to the hotel next door, the carpet as you entered the room was fraying and the light in the entry didn't work.
The room must have been a room for the office at one time, as there was a door in the shared wall and our bed was right next to it. The fireplace was gas and the flame was small, which didn't provide the coziness we would have liked. If we were to stay at this property again, we would only stay in an ocean view room which have patios with chairs and a table. The location of the Inn is nice. We walked across the street to walk along the boardwalk and to go down to the beach. We walked to some good restaurants down the street for dinner. The continental breakfast was decent. We are just disappointed with the rooms and wish the description of the room types would mention the type of view, too.
