Disappointed in the Room, But Had a Good Time A review of The Summit of Gatlinburg
We stayed at the Summit if Gatlinburg in August of 2005. We were a bit disappointed in the 2 bedroom we stayed in.
The toilets were stopped up, had to take a plunger with us each time we went to the restroom. The bathtubs would not drain, the shower curtains had so much mildew and soap scum, we were afraid to touch them. The pull-out couch that my sons had to sleep on had lumps and holes in it, very uncomfortable. The carpet was dirty and had patched holes. The couch and chair were dirty and full of holes, the bottom of the couch was falling on the carpet. No linen service, laundry facilities were very expensive, $1.25 for wash (holds 6 towels) and $1.50 to dry. The barbecue grills didn't work. The whole room was very outdated, needed a clean-up and a touch-up.
The 2 bedrooms did have comfortable beds with new looking mattresses. The swimming pools were in good shape. The kitchen was well equipped, but not so clean.
If you plan to visit the Summit, please take your groceries and supplies with you, it is a long trip up the mountain.
