Disappointed in the Renaissance A review of President Abraham Lincoln Hotel & Confernece Center
I just stayed at this hotel over the weekend (July 17, 2004) and I was very disappointed. I am a travel agent and have stayed in a lot of hotels. This wasn't one of the worst ones but I would not ever stay here again. I expected a lot better for a Renaissance. The woman at the front desk was very rude. I was very uncomfortable.
When we got to our room, it was very warm. I went over to change the thermostat to find that it was set on 70 degrees already. There was one small vent at the very end of the room but the window. It did not cool the room.
When I got ready to go to bed, I pulled back the covers and found a torn sheet on my bed. When I looked further, I found three tears in it. Why would you put a sheet on the bed that is in that shape?
Also, around the edges of the furniture, there were very visible piles of dust.
I can put up with a lot and over look a lot but this was too much. I would not stay there again nor would I ever book a client there. The Hilton is right across the street and it is a much nicer hotel.
I decided to write a letter to the hotel manager. I called today to get the name and got a very rude person on the phone. If you want customer service, it is not the place for you.
