Disapointing hotel A review of Bedford Hotel & Congress Centre
I have just a long weekend in Brussels and stayed at the Bedford Hotel, 24th-26th July.
The website for the hotel made it look quite appealing and the pictures they show focus on the nicer rooms etc.
The reality is that the room we were shown to upon our arrival was as dark as a dungeon and furnished in an equally dark and depressing way, to get a room similar to the one featured involved parting with another 100 euro supplement, the room was bigger but was still furnished in the same manner.
The food in the breakfast room was not of a particular good standard and certainly not of a 4 star hotel.
The hotel seemed to be a favourite with coach parties and these were coming and going at all hours in considerable numbers which made it quite noisy.
This hotel is really more for business people as they also have a conference centre, if you are looking for a special place for a romantic weekend choose somewhere else, I personally would not return whatever the price.
I would like to point out that I am very well travelled and have stayed in a wide variety of hotels at all standards in various parts of the world, to me a stay in Brussels is a waste of money as there is only the Grand Plaza worth seeing.
Bruges on the other hand is very pretty and well worth a look, stay there instead and you will not be disapointed.
