Dirty, Poor Customer Service A review of Howard Johnson Toronto Lakeshore
This hotel is horrible. The room was so small, you could hardly move.
Reserved a non-smoking room and the room still smelled like smoke. When told the manager, she said "the previous guest must have smoked". She made no effort to give me another room. There were cakes of dust around the edges, the bathtub had a purple ring around it, dirt on the bathroom fixtures and someone left a dish of some kind of dried food in the room. The free breakfast consisted of 1 egg, greasy potatoes and a hot dog, the table cloths were dirty. Parking is about 200 feet away in a private garage, charging $12.00 a day, plus a sneaky $2.00 a day safe fee. The area is not too good with beggers roaming the street. The rate was cheap, but with the added parking and inconvienience, for a few more dollars you could find a decent hotel downtown.
