Decent hotel, sketchy location A review of Wyndham Garden Providence
I've stayed here a few times for its price and proximity to Brown University. The hotel itself has been renovated at some point recently - decent lobby and public spaces, and the bar/restaurant area looks nice enough, actually. Rooms were fine - standard hotel, not big or small, and very clean. The location is sketchy - due to extensive construction happening in the area, the only pathway to the hotel is through a pretty inaccessible construction site. I'm certain that once they finish the connections to the nearby highway, it will be much more easily accessible and will look like it's in a nicer location. But until then, you drive up to the place and think "wha?" There's zero in the immediate vicinity. However, the price is right ($75 prepaid on Radisson.com). Regardless, I highly recommend the downtown hotels for their locations and, in the case of the Courtyard by Marriott, Biltmore and Holiday Inn, good prices.
