Couldn't be better A review of Half Moon Bay Lodge
We had a wonderful stay at the Half Moon Bay Lodge. It has the feel of a fancy hotel, with lots of attention to detail (well-stocked library in the lobby, freshly baked cookies in the afternoon) for half the cost of that other place down the street (The Ritz-Carlton).
The rooms are clean, well-kept up, nicely decorated and large. Our two adjoining rooms had sliding glass doors that opened out onto their own patios, and from there to a wide-open grassy lawn that the kids loved.
Upon our arrival they gave our children sand buckets and shovels, activity books with crayons, and their own robes to use for their stay (our robes were waiting in the room). The kids (and dad!) also loved the heated outdoor pool, and the jacuzzi was nice and big. We didn't check out the exercise room.
There's a continental breakfast in the mornings, staffed by the nicest woman, who hustled like crazy and apologized profusely if someone had to ask for anything.
The beds were very comfortable, covered with thick down comforters.
There was a large desk, and a small table with two large overstuffed chairs. Our nice big room was one of the smallest -- many of the others have fireplaces.
The staff was as nice as can be.
We'll definitely be back -- in fact, we're recommending it for our next family reunion!
