Could have been great with a little work. A review of MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa
We stayed for 5 nights in late July. The hotel is still pretty nice, but is definitely starting to show its' age a little. First the positives: The price ($89/night... was far cheaper than any of the other Casinos in the area for the time we were there), the room was very large and had a Jacuzzi tub/shower in it, The Casino has a good variety of games and we didn't notice it to be any more smokey than any other casino we'd been in, the pool area is very nice, it's within easy walking distance to lots of attractions, shopping, and food.
Now for the negatives: The room was not cleaned thoroughly (the open areas were well kept, but we found a variety of things under the bed and in other less obvious places (including an old beer bottle, clothing, dental floss, etc.)). The water temperature regularly fluctuated while trying to shower, and the pillows were the worst we've ever had (they would go flat within seconds of using them... and there are no extras provided).
Overall we were pleased with the stay. We had a blast in Tahoe. While I imagine it would probably take a large investment to fix the water temperature issues, the other items could easily be corrected with a little effort. With a little work Caesars could re-establish itself as a 4-diamond hotel. It's still a good place for the price.
