Could Do Better A review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Independence Park Hotel
The location of this hotel is excellent for sightseeing and there is a lot of very good restaurants nearby. The room we had was very comfortable but a number of things let the hotel down preventing a higher rating which it should get. Firstly the breakfast described as luxury/de luxe, turned out to be below average. Weve had better in budget chains, and availability of various items was patchy( No eggs, no proper bread for toast etc). There was some small pieces of litter in the lift which were still there after 7 nights. A fax was sent to me at the hotel which was eventually given to me after sitting on the desk for 5days! There was a cheese and wine evening given by the management but there was no sign of them, and the cheeses on offer were indifferent. We couldnt help contrast this with the Affinia Dumont in NY where we had stayed the previous 7 nights, here there were superb canapes served by the management with whom we were able to have a good chat . I feel a bit sorry for the staff as they were very friendly in most instances. Somehow I sense the management need to get closer involved with the day to day running of the hotel as it should be quite capable of getting a 4 or 5* rating.
