Comfortable place to stay in Tampa A review of Sailport Waterfront Suites
I stayed at Sailport Resort for a weekend in June, 2002, while attending a wedding. Our party used three suites. I was surprized at the quality (and size) of the accomodations for the price. Designed like a railroad flat (one corridor connects the bedroom, bath, and living room), I felt like I was in my own apartment-- the facilities were clean, nicely furnished, and spacious. You need a car to get around to other parts of Tampa. However, if you don't want to use the stocked kitchen, there are a few good restaurants across the road and within walking distance. Check around the internet for the best price-- the established reservation services may not provide it (I paid $79 a night, as compaired to the $89 quoted on the major reservation services). Every room has a balcony and a view of Tampa Bay. There is a nice pool area.
