Comfortable, Not Posh A review of Days Inn Miami International Airport
We're staying at the Days Inn at 7250 NW 11 Street for a couple of nights. THERE ARE NO BALCONY UNITS HERE. Please, Reviewers, make sure you have the correct facility before posting negative experiences because TripAdvisors is the travelers' bible.
The outward appearance of this motel doesn't do the rooms justice. We were disappointed when pulling in and then pleasantly surprised with our room (kind of a Jekyll/Hyde thing going on). It's spacious, clean, nicely appointed with some amenities like a fridge and microwave. There's a granite countertop in our bathroom. Not posh but comfortable. The parking area is fenced and staffed with a security guard. We (and our car) felt safe. There is a restaurant right next door which made mealtime convenient.
Very happy with our choice. Would recommend it.
ONE CAUTION: If you stay here, DON'T order food from vendors that shove flyers under room doors. These vendors aren't authorized by Days Inn to provide food services. We paid $27.00 for a minimal order. When the food came, it wasn't fit for consumption by any living thing. Two shakes came. It looked like they'd been sitting around for quite some time as they were melted and came complete with a curdling froth on top. Yuk!
Requested our money back. Vendor told us there are no refunds and starting yelling and cussing at us, including the "f" word. We called the police. Found out later from management that this is the biggest scam going at airport motels now. These vendors aren't licensed and sometimes prepare food from their homes or garages. There's a sign at the reception desk warning customers. We, of course, didn't read it when checking in. Told the manager we called the police. He said there are stacks of reports. After the police investigate, the "company" comes up with a new name, gets a new cell number, prints a new flyer, and is back in business the next day. We were victimized.
