Clean and Upscale, but pricey. A review of Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel

Stayed at the Yankee clipper in one of the non ocean views ($20 cheaper). Was on the 1st floor near traffic. Lots of traffic noise required turning the blower on the climate control to quiet it down. 4 buildings make up this hotel. All are nice. No hottub but 3 pools. Prices in restaurants are high (ex. $2.50 for 8 oz orange juice or 6 oz hot chocolate, $2 - 20 oz cokes in the gift shop). Staff was generally good. Hotel is much nicer than some others on the beach we've stayed at. Generally the carpeting at beach hotels takes a beating. This place was good due to it's 2001 redo. Nice location. I'd stay there again but at $139 I'd look around first. Try ... as it was $20 cheaper than Orbitz and Expedia. Definately a 3 star to 3.5. Parking availability was first rate but $7 a night. All phone calls are either $0.85 or $1.50 depending on distance. Hotel offers ping pong, pools, sports deck (bball, putting green), Las Olas blvd not too far away. Respectable but pricey.
