Classic Old School Motel A review of Indian Hill Motel
Dates of Stay: Monday, September 16th - 18th, 2013 Location: The Indian Hill Motel sits atop a hill just as you come into Greenville. This classic hotel has views of Moosehead Lake from every room. Value: We paid $99.00 for a King, which was the week day, peak season rate. The most expensive room is $119 during the weekend of the International Seaplane Fly-In. I thought this was extremely reasonable. Room: The room was a nice size with plenty of space to walk around, even with our suitcases spread out on the floor. It's sparsely decorated, but clean and comfortable. TV reception was very good. The motel advertises free WiFi, & was showing a good signal, but we could not get connected. Jessica indicated it was hit & miss in the rooms. The Keurig coffee maker was a nice touch, but I thought it was odd that there was no phone in the room. I would recommend adding some hooks to the back of the bathroom door, because there is really no place to put your toiletry bag. I would also recommend adding hair dryers to each room. Housekeeping: We usually place the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, if we are only staying one or 2 nights. We had the sign on the door, but when we returned that afternoon, our room had been made. I guess housekeeping assumed no one was there, since no cars were in the parking lot. However, I feel that they should have respected our request. The room was clean, but the bathtub could have used a good bleaching. Front Desk: Jessica, the owner was very warm & inviting. However, I did not like that you could not get in touch with anyone after 7:00 pm. The first night my sweetheart walked down to the office to inquire about the WiFi. The 2nd night, I needed a hair dryer, but the office was dark. Summary: Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay & would definitely stay here again. Although we did not utilize their services, Jessica & her husband also operate Northeast Guide Service, located across the street.
