Classic Hotel A review of Golden Tulip Savoy Prague
My wife and I stayed at the Savoy for five nights in May. We tend to like the LSHW properties, and found a special (though still expensive - $200+) rate on the website. We had a large corner room facing the street which was comfortable and very quiet thanks to double windows. The large bathroom was welcoming, and the amenities were very nice - including slippers, bathrobe, etc. As an added bonus, the mini-bar was included in the room rate and was regularly restocked. The hotel provided a welcome basket of excellent fruit as well. Breakfasts were tasty and very relaxing. The tram ride is easy to figure out if you don't want to walk back to the hotel. We almost always walked down to the city, sometimes twice a day. Be careful if you take a taxi back, as the 4 minute cab ride can run over $15. Picky details: The matress was a bit on the firm side for my tastes. Also, you may want to take your own coffee mug to breakfast, as the coffee isn't strong enough for the tiny cups - and refills can be slow in coming. Still, we couldn't imagine staying any place else on our next trip to Prague.
