Choose wisely at the Mt Haven A review of Mt. Haven Resort & Restaurant
The best way to sum up Mt Haven Resort is "quirky."
I would not consider this a resort but more of a motel with a restaurant. There is no front desk in the traditional sense but within the restuarant there is someone that will check you in, needless to say we were confused on how to check in but a waiter pointed us in the correct direction.
After the check-in a piece of paper was given to us with meal times and activites in the area. We opted for the VIP plan which includes Breakfast and Dinner, bad thing is that breakfast does not start till 9am and it's a limited menu (terrible if you want to start the day early). The Dinner Buffet was excellent but the service wasn't great, the staff ranged from grumpy to quirky.
We stayed in a deluxe room. The room appeared to be recently remodeled and was nice. The problem was the lack of hot water, there is even a sign in the bathroom that it takes one minute for hot water. Also, I did not find the water hot enough for a shower. The fireplace is a nice touch. I would opt for a suite or cottage.
Back to the piece of paper with activites in the area, this was okay but I would have liked to have known what was available on the property. We drove around to see what they had.
