Cheeky and fun, great little hideaway A review of Pink Flamingo

Spent ages looking for a nice place to stay in Port Douglas on our way up to Cape Tribulation. We wanted somewhere quiet and not major touristy. After much searching on the web came across the Pink Flamingo!

What a great place, staff really friendly and helpful while being unobtrusive. Location great, just outside of the main town so quiet but within an easy 10 minute walk to the centre.

The rooms are all set out the back of the property and feature outside dining areas and even an outside bath! What a fantastic way to spend an evening drinking champagne and looking at the stars whilst being in the bath.

The decor and design of the place is really bright and interesting (see pictures). All the rooms are enclosed with over 6ft high walls so you have absolute privacy, which keeps the noise down as well. The rooms are large and spacious with good sized beds and a small kitchen area and tv (not that you will watch it much!).

The property has a nice little pool and barbecue area where you can chill out, have your own barbecue etc.

We visited the Daintree wildlife centre whilst there and had breakfast with the birds, very touristy but very fun as the birds fly around and if you tempt them right come right to your table and even eat from your hand and sit on your shoulder!

We loved this place, we are very picky but nothing was wrong with this little hotel. Would highly recommend over the other more touristy chain hotels in town.
