Checked out early A review of Country Cascades
We just returned from our Pigeon Forge vacation. We had booked this hotel for 4 nights, but lasted just 2. I have stayed at other Country Inn properties that were very nice, so this was a let-down. Our first room was on the top floor (7). I had been told these rooms were a nice size, with vaulted ceilings and fans. The last 2 things were true, but the room was very small for the 3 of us, and the furnishings were very beat-up. When gazing up to the vaulted ceiling there was wallpaper coming off the walls. We requested something larger and finally moved into a suite on the 5th floor. This was a vast improvement, very nicely furnished, although the price of $183 for a weekend night was just not worth it. On our second day we did not get any housekeeping service until 6 p.m., or sometime after we'd left for the evening. The elevators, hallway carpet, etc. look in need of remodeling. The indoor pool area was nice, but the outside was old and very plain, having no plants or landscaping to make it look appealing. The Comfort Inn we moved into for days 3 and 4 was like a palace compared to this property. AAA should take another look here, because the 3-diamond rating just doesn't work.
