Check-In and Shuttle Problems A review of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport
We stayed at the Sheraton for 1 night prior to our trip to England and 1 night following our return in April 2004. The room itself was very nice -- large and clean. My complaints were with the staffing -- the hotel was overrun with tour groups arriving in buses when we arrived and they did not have nearly enough staff on hand to handle the influx of guests. Also, on return to Newark airport, we waited more than 30 minutes for the hotel's shuttle back to the hotel. This was at midnight -- its not like all the shuttle vans were busy taking people to and from the airport. Multiple attempts were made using the airport courtesy phone before someone finally picked up at the hotel. Shuttle vans from the other hotels had made 2 or 3 pickups before the Sheraton van finally arrived. Given the problems checking in and with the shuttle back from the airport, I think I will try a different hotel the next time we start a trip out of Newark.
