Cheap, safe place to stay when visiting Mom A review of Holiday Park Hotels & Suites Deerfield Beach
This is not a resort hotel - but, for an extremely low price, it is a perfectly acceptable place to stay if all you need is a bed and a shower (although there are plenty of folks vacationing). I am a middle-aged woman who has stayed here about a half dozen times in the past year, for 3 nights each time, when I'm visiting my mother. Each time, I got the no smoking room that I requested and the staff honored my requests for a room in a "visible" location. The rooms are clean, with fresh towels, etc. every day. The staff are fine. A room near the pool/outdoor bar might be noisy - I avoid them. The rooms are not perfect - a drawer in the dresser may be broken, tiles might be patched in the bathroom, the walls are thin (surprise!) and sometimes there's a musty smell. Once the room smelled badly - but they gave me a different one immediately. When I read the other reviews for low end hotels/motels in Deerfield, every one of them seems to be worse, and more expensive. I've never had the free breakfast. Is this the Ritz, no. Is it good value for the monye? YES!
