Challenging the Norm A review of Hampton Inn & Suites Boston Crosstown Center
I chose this hotel because it was offering a much better deal than the ones downtown, even though my temporary work site was neighboring the downtown Quincy Market location. I was aware that the motel recently opened, and that I might experience some problems due to facilities not being ready and the staff not being thoroughly experienced. I'm now pleased to say that my biggest problem was walking the three blocks to the Silver Line each morning and crossing the road to walk to the nearest convenience store for my nightly devil dogs and soda. The motel is a standard Hampton. I had a room without a mini-fridge; but those are available, too. The morning breakfast has some warm items and also has available packets of hot chocolate (which I like). If you arrive at the airport, call the hotel when you get to the baggage claim and you'll be picked up by their shuttle in short time. True, the hotel is next to a medical center and, otherwise, the surroundings are sparse. But as I took the Silver Line into town in the morning, I noticed several quaint eateries on the way. And Bus #1 runs from a stop just a block from the hotel through the convention area all the way to Cambridge at Harvard Square!
