Can't wait to return! A review of The Chrysalis Inn & Spa
This Inn has it all. It is by far the most comfortable away from home place we have ever stayed. We utilized a weekend package called the Bellingham getaway weekend including two nights in a deluxe, side view room, two, 30 minute spa treatments, spa gift, and breakfast at Finos both mornings. Check in is at 3 and check out is a wonderfully late noon!Upon entering the room, one feels right at home. The décor is contemporary, simple, tasteful and easy on the eyes with soft earth tones. On the opposite wall a large window including a partially screened rollout window with an outsized cushioned window seat overlooks Bellingham bay and park. The view was fantastic, even thought we had a side view room. The gas fireplace was situated between the king bed and window seat on a diagonal wall. All amenities are provided including a well-stocked fridge of a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a basket of snacks (a bit overpriced, but there if you like). The bathroom is beautiful, with slate tiled floors and shower. Two people can easily shower together and THE TUB, the tub, the tub! What a treat! A large, two person soaking tub is an added bonus. The suites have a jacuzzi tub, but for the added cost, I couldnt justify the jets! Also, the Chrysalis provides several of their luxurious spa products for use in the bathroom. Dont forget the bubble bath (and candles)!!The bed is wonderful! The Frette sheets are the softest I have ever felt and the down comforter and pillows made the experience cozy and comfortable. The room has a CD player, VCR, TV, iron and board, hairdryer and coffeemaker (4 cup, with coffee included). The Inn is situated adjacent to (within feet) a railroad track. The train was not a problem and never woke either one of us up (even without the ear plugs they provided). In fact, the train added to the ambiance of the package! Our package included two, 30 minute spa treatments of either a hydrotherapy bath or Swedish massage per person. I took the hydrotherapy bath and my husband enl and very spoiling! I have been to the Chrysalis spa several times and all of their treatments are first class, performed by an exceptionally professional staff! I recommend adding time or treatments if you are planning on staying for the weekend. The breakfast at Finos is wonderful. It is served buffet style including eggs presented several ways, a variety of breads, incredible jellies, bagels, home-made granola, yogurt, fruit and cereals. While sipping on your fresh squeezed orange juice one can enjoy a panoramic view of the bay. There is MUCH to do in the area while you are in Bellingham. For example, the hiking in Larabee State Park is just a short drive up beautiful Chuckanut Dr., and within walking distance of the Inn, historic Fairhaven provides shopping and dinning pleasures. I would recommend Stanellos for Italian and the local Mexican cantina for delicious, casual dinning. The staff at the Inn, Spa and Finos are accommodating, friendly, helpful and will make sure your needs are met to make your stay the most comfortable it can be.My recommendation: YES, YES, YES. The Inn is a bit pricey, but for the couple that is looking to get away for a weekend, or for that special occasion this Inn is spectacular and spoiling!
