Can't get enough A review of The American Club
Only an hour away from home but its like being a thousand miles away.
There is such a variety of things to do that everyone leaves satisfied.
The Immigrant Room is something special - excellent food presented in a five-star flair. For a dining experience a little out of the ordinary, pay the $15 for access to the River Wild Life game club. Included with the fee you'll not only have access to the wildlife preserve, which is a beautiful place to hike or cross country ski, but you'll also be able to enjoy a cozy dinner in the log cabin style lodge. You won't be given a menu, the waitress will tell you your options for that day, usually only 4 or 5 entree selections to choose from and they will vary from wild life to fish to something more basic for those who aren't as daring. Be sure to save room for the home made desserts.
A trip to the American Club is not complete without a visit to the Spa.
Facials, pedicures and massages abound. I can't wait to go back in November!
If it seems a little pricey - go in the off season (Nov - Apr). enjoy one of the special fairs or fests going on such as Choloate Fest!
