Brussels without the hassle A review of Hotel Leopold Brussels
Just got back from a long weekend trip to Brussels. Originally we wanted to stay in one of the tourist hotels close to the Grand Place, but they were all full, so we opted for the Leopold, which is further out but which, fortuitously, turned out to be the better choice.
As a hotel, it's relatively small, only about 110 rooms, but immaculate and with very friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are also quite small but have everything you need for a short stay; and the restaurant and brasserie are superb.
Although it's about 15-20 minutes walk from the main tourist spots, the Leopold is very conveniently situated for the Metro - just 5 minutes walk from Trone station which links with the main Midi Station and also with the line that goes into town. It's also just a stone's throw from the European Parliament area, so there are lots of reasonable priced bars and cafes all around.
Ideal for the weekend break - **** recommendation
