Boxed in Brussels A review of Hotel Leopold Brussels
Despite what other reviews state this hotel is well positioned for both transport links and easy access on foot to Brussels many attractions.
The room supplied was diminutive in the extreme although the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked. No bath however, only a shower and after a couple of days legging it around the city we missed being able to soak our tired limbs. The lounge was pretty awful hardly any room at all. The breakfast room was superb, the hot food looked o.k. but the bread was dissapointing. Coffee at breakfast was disgusting and service of same poor. The management were particularly unhelpful in relation to our booking. We booked and paid for four nights which included one free night. We decided to leave one day early and agreed that we were not entitled to a refund but asked if we could have the free nights breakfast without charge (all paid for nights included breakfast) Notwithstanding that the hotel could readily relet our room for which they had been paid and which included breakfast they were adamant that we pay for the breakfast following the free night. We took breakfast at a bakers 100 metres away , much cheaper and very good.
