Both good and bad about Inter Hotel A review of Golden Tree
My husband and I just returned from Brugge and we stayed at the Inter Hotel, which is just a stone's throw from the t'Zand and the Concertgebouw, and about 10 minutes walking distance from all the main attractions. The outside and lobby of the hotel suggest lavishness. We were greeted very warmly by the proprieter, who speaks several languages fluently (so you never have to worry about communicating).I found it a tad overpriced, considering the location. Like I said, it was not very close to the tourist attractions, and it was on a busy street. So there was a lot of noise. The room was extremely basic and very plain looking, despite the lavishness of the lobby and breakfast room. The bed was not comfortable. And if you're allergic to dogs, you might not want to stay there, as the owner's dog is a constant fixture (I enjoyed the dog, but it did bark a lot).Good points: a parking lot with free parking, phenomenal breakfast (all you can eat buffet consisting of assorted breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, jams, honey, nutella, cream cheese, juice, tea, coffee). We enjoyed our stay for the most part, but the largest problem, aside from the noise, was the price. I wouldn't pay that much again for such basic amenities and such a small and bland room and uncomfortable bed. And the shower head in our bathroom was about knee high, which made taking showers very interesting.
