Bon Air Lodge part of Quality inn Creekside. A review of Quality Inn Creekside
We were driving back to Ohio from Florida and decide to spend the night in Gatlinburg which is are favorite place to vacation. We usually stay at Zoder's or Hampton Inn but, they were both booked. We decided on the Quality Inn Creekside because it is the only place on the parkway with openings. The Man named Don who checked us in said they had rooms open were down the street at the Old Bon Air Lodge which they bought about 5 months ago was just renovated. He was very nice.I went to look at the room which was 128 on the bottom floor with a private small patio. The room did appear to be renovted. The beds and covers were new as well as the furniture and couch. The room had two queen beds and fireplace.the bathroom looked clean at first glance.I have stayed in Gatlinburg many times and I knew we would not find anything nicer on short notice on the Parkway. The pool was small but, nice.It was a little colder than we like.
The room was $89.00 a night. After we paid is when I notice a few things I want to mention to others who read decide to stay here. The hill you have to walk up to get to the hotel is really hard to walk up even for my healthy 13 year old.The room was big and seemed to be clean except i found some empty cups and candy wrappers on the side of the bed and couch. The bathroom celing above the shower had a little mold and the toliet always ran.The carpet was new.The bed was comfortable. My sons sheets did look dirty so I requested new ones at Midnight and they brought them to me with no problems.I wish we were able to stay at the main Quality inn Crekside which was by the creek and office. They are bulding a bridge and elevator to the main building they said so it should be okay when this done.
The free breakfast looked good but your typical free breakfast.we ate at the FlapJack Pancake restaurant right next door. The Location is good except the big hill I mentioned that leads to the new part of the hotel. We might stay here again after they build the bridge or if we could stay at the main building.
