Bigger isn't better A review of La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

This was our second trip to La Quinta and had really looked forward to it. Quite a disappointment. It has expanded enormously at the expense of quality and service. While they have significantly expanded the number of guests, support services etc. have not grown with it.

Check-in/check out was painful due to long lines. Our older casita was very dark. What are they hiding? Self parking was next to impossible due to limited space. Food was OK but very pricey. The concierge was of no use.

One of our traveling companions was put into a room with only a murphy bed. The room was obviously part of suite that the hotel carved out as a separate room. Are they kidding?

The grounds and flowers are beautiful and they have a good fitness center.

La Quinta is probably a good place for a few day business meeting/conference but as a resort for a personal trip it has grown too large and unmanageable to be worth the money.
