Beware Freezing Cold Outdoor Pool A review of Holiday Inn - Apex Vail
Just got back from Vail. Vail itself is amazing go you will love it. But not this hotel/condo. We picked this Apex Holiday Inn for the outdoor pool to swim in the heated water outside in winter. The pool water is kept so icy freezing cold that on the sold out presidents' day weekend not one person could swim in the pool. Instead all the guests crowded into the indoor hot tub. We have stayed at many other ski resort hotels with outdoor pools and they are usually warm and fantastic after a day on the slopes. Stay somewhere else if the outdoor pool is important to you. We argued with the management to turn up the heat but they could care less about it and said the water is kept at this temperature year round. Maybe in July it is swimable? Guests must call the front desk repeatedly to get towels delivered to the hot tub area. Watching so many guests complain about the pool and management refusing to do anything was a real turn off to this place.
