Better wait until next year A review of Ojai Valley Inn & Spa
I am a return guest (6 times) at the Ojai Valley Inn, but I will not go back until after they have completed their current multi-million dollar renovation. They are trying to uphold their usual level of service, but they are falling short. I was not informed that they are not operating their kids' club, although my children were registered in it when I made my reservation. I only found out when I called to confirm everything the evening before I was scheduled to arrive! It was impossible to reschedule spa services, etc. and little help was offered unless I asked specifically for it. My room was nice enough, but the bathroom vanity was broken and the surface peeling off (very surprising and unsightly). My daughter banged her head on a dangerously positioned sculture by the spa pool (the only one being used during the renovation). Even security said it shouldn't be there and would have it moved the next day. Even at a reduced renovation rate, it's not worth the hassle. It was fairly obvious that the hotel staff were overwhelmed and I heard several other guests voicing concerns. The Inn and Spa are absolutely gorgeous and I will certainly return, but not until after September 2004.
