Better Than Home A review of Hilton Garden Inn Charlottesville
Can you believe I stayed in a hotel in my own home town?
I had a house full of guests coming in for an Oyster Roast the same day I came down with a bad flu complete with nausea. My husband and daughter had the party under control so I opted to spend the night away. It was under $100. and I was able to get early check in. Every thing was great. Free Parking, Friendly Staff, new clean room, great business center, Great Breakfast! (my stomach had settled down by the next morning) and even a beautiful view. I was very comfortable even in my ill condition and I am very, very picky. I like my Tempur-Pedic foam mattress overlay and my just right Pacific Coast Down around pillow and usually pack them up and take them where ever I go. I was just too ill to lug all my stuff. I had studied the Hilton Garden Inn's and found out a lot of their locations have a Garden Sleep System Bed (They often call their Evolution Rooms). The King Bed has a similar type Foam topper to my one at home and it was even adjustable. I had trouble finding the adjustment controls on the side of the bed but the front desk helped me find it. Their pillows were down filled and just right. The TV was wonderful and the microwave and fridge were a blessing. The bath had a curved out shower rod, good strong water pressure in the shower, fluffy towels and adequate bath amenities. I was very impressed and I like places like The Jefferson in Richmond, VA, The Ritz at Tyson's Corner, VA (near DC), The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV and St Regis in Houston. Of course this little spot was no Ritz but it was a wonderful healing heavenly place for me to escape to.
I look forward to checking out other Hilton Garden Inns.
