Best mid-range hotel I've ever stayed in A review of Lighthouse Inn
We had stayed at the Super 8 in Crescent City for a couple of nights, which was ok but not a particularly nice hotel. Then checked out to go camping, and afterwards came back to town looking for something nicer when we noticed the Lighthouse Inn. Well, my 4 year old son likes lighthouses so we were stuck... but in a good way.
The place turned out to be BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN, ornately decorated (a bit tacky perhaps, but my son loved it), the rooms are HUGE and fully appointed (which for me means a microwave and a refrigerator), the included breakfast was excellent, the staff helpful and the location great. Did I mention the clean, well-equipped laundry room? One more thing - it's well sound-proofed. Although our room overlooked the main highway (a good thing since we had a view across the highway to the harbor) with the window closed our room was almost silent. And the rates are very reasonable. And it's COMPLETELY NON-SMOKING! You just couldn't ask for more from a mid-range hotel. Why can't more places be like this?
(Well, it doesn't have a pool but during the winter it's too cold to use it anyway and during summer you'll go to the beach or the rivers. So the pool was a reasonable omission.)
