Best in Kennebunkport A review of Kennebunkport Inn
The Kennebunkport Inn is centered on an elegant Victorian home built in 1898. Of all the lodging in Kennebunkport, this inn is closest to the quaint downtown area. In fact, it is in the downtown area. All the shops are within easy walking distance (less than a block). During our visit we stayed in the "Warfside" rooms, which are separate from the main inn-about a block away. If you want to be in the midst of the shopping and dining action, the Warfside rooms are even better. When you step outside the Warfside entrance, the shops are literally steps away. (It is easy to mistake the Warfside entrance for a door to one of the village shops.)
The rooms at the Kennebunkport Inn are comfortably furnished in a "country" motif. The beds are draped with thick comforters. In our room, wicker chairs and a large TV rounded out the furnishings. The room was air conditioned and featured a telephone with a data port.
There is a small outdoor swimming pool at the main inn. The hotel also provides passes for the Kennebunkport beach, which is several miles away.
Our experience at the Kennebunkport Inn was extremely positive. The staff is pleasant and the rooms are immaculately clean. The restaurant is superb, serving the best food the town has to offer. (The crab cake appetizers were fabulous and my filet mignon was large and flavorful.) The restaurant is pricey, but the food and service are well worth it.
The Kennebunkport Inn is a popular destination, but they only have about 50 rooms. Reservations well in advance are adviseable.
