Bed Linens Not Clean A review of Fairfield Inn & Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront

I just returned from one of several overnight stays during the months of January/February. My initial stay went well, the room was clean, the bed linens, etc. Unfortunately, in my subsequent stays I experienced cleanliness issues as well as service issues. The rooms were not as soundproof as one would expect given the caliber of the hotel. The occupants of the room next to ours were very loud, slamming doors, and had young children who were very loud. When I called the front desk they advised they were full. When I insisted, they called back and moved us to another room, however the room they transferred us to was NOT a non-smoking floor or room. Guests were smoking in the hall. In addition, when we moved to the new room we found that it was not clean. The night table between the two beds had some sort of sticky mess where someone had obviously spilled something and it had not been cleaned up and the bathroom vanity had not been cleaned. I mentioned this when checking out and received a "Sorry about that". My recent visit occured 3 days after that visit, and it seemed that the room was very clean, however when I pulled back the bedspread, I found that the sheets were crumpled and the corner of the fitted sheet was not pulled over the bed. There was also body hair on the sheets. I walked down to the front desk and they advised they weren't sure if they had any other rooms available, I advised that if they would provide clean sheets, that I would make the bed myself. The front desk person handed me clean sheets and as an afterthought advised she would take the movie charge off my bill.

The staff is very pleasant but the cleanliness leaves alot to be desired
