Beautiful Setting, Friendly Service, Truly Bali A review of Melia Bali Indonesia
My husband and I stayed at the Melia Bali Resort and Spa for 5 nights in December 2004 and we love the experience at the hotel. From the moment you arrive, they welcome you with a traditional Balinese 'GONG' and in the evenings when you return from your day trips, you'll be greeted by the hynoptic gamelan melodies and graceful Balinese dancers.
Ours was a superior double room but nevertheless, the experience was blissful. The rooms are well-kept, cosy and tastefully furnished with Indonesian teak. It opens up to abalcony where the occasional squirrels prance freely! (Don't believe, see our photosThe beds are very comfortable, a perfect respite for a long day of sightseeing! Oh, not to mention the pools, we love the pools, it's heated at night!
What truly makes Melia Bali a gem is the landscaping around the hotel compound and their eye for details. When night falls, the hotel staff actually lit up little candles one by one along the pathways leading to the pools and restaurants - casting a romantic glow on the entire resort. Throughout our stay, we were showered with the warmest Balinese hospitality and we couldn't ask for more. No wonder Bali is known as the Land of Smiles!
We've included some photos we've taken of the resort (and of Bali) for your viewing. Enjoy! http://www.worldisround.com/home/dimsim/index.html
