Beautiful, Peaceful, Home on the Range... A review of Zion Mountain Resort
I stayed at Zion Mountain Resort in July of 2004 with 45 teenagers....and it was STILL peaceful! This place is only a couple of years old and the nicely decorated, spacious cabins are beautiful. We especially liked the ones that are down their driveway on the same side as the restaurant/office/corral, although the ones across the street were nice too. They were nicely decorated and super clean. We had a fridge. Beds were comfy and had cotton quilts on them. They have a decent restaurant there--plain and simple atmosphere but great for a hearty breakfast, sandwiches, steak, chicken, and burgers. They did a great job accommodating the needs of a youth group and always were calm, helpful and flexible with us. It doesn't seem like your typical "resort". It's more like home--very casual and friendly. The buffalo roam their property and you can grab a carrot from the kitchen to feed them. They have a fire-ring outside for evening sitting and star-gazing. They offer trail rides out to the rim of Zion and also have an outdoor hot-tub. The resort is on the opposite side of the Main Entrance to Zion National Park so that you have to drive through the park in order to get to the parking area and shuttle buses. But it's only 10 minutes or so and who could ever get tired of driving through Zion National Park. This is a beautiful and secluded place. I'd like to move in!
