Beautiful inn. Can't wait to return A review of Mountain Harbor Inn Resort On the Lake
My family of 4 and our 2 dogs stayed for 3 nights in The Rose suite and we LOVED it. The view was the best part of this inn. We were in a garden terrace room (which I would highly reccommend if the noise from the road behind would bother your sleep). The rooms on the terrace do not have a back door because it is actually a walkout basement area. It is below ground on the street side, but on the lake side you have a gorgeous view and a small grassy area and immediate access to the hot tub. The king sized beds were the most comfortable I've had in a hotel. The breakfast was fabulous! A wonderful assortment and they serve until 10 for those of us who like to sleep in on vacation!
My husband and I felt a sense of calm at this inn. Our daughter's felt so special sleeping in the beautiful beds with chandeliers in the rooms. My dogs felt at home and were welcomed by all of the staff and guests. The staff was extraordinary. Robin was the person we had the most interaction with and she was absolutely wonderful. From the second we walked into the lobby, she had the biggest smile on her face and she made us all feel special.
The only negatives about the place was the fact that they are in the middle of a remodel so there was ladders around and construction people around painting and hammering. I felt they should have let us know this when we booked the room and also discounted the room because of the fact that the construction was going on. Fortunately, from the garden terrace we were not bothered by the construction too much. If we had been in any of the upstairs rooms it would have been more of a nuisance. I believe the construction will be going on for awhile, so if you are staying here during the week I'd reccommend the garden terrace rooms. Also, there are not many restaurants around this inn. You cannot get food delivered here. There is one restaurant a couple of minutes away...but it was not very good. Also, the price to keep your dog in the room is pretty steep. 50 per night. More expensive than any other in or hotel in my experience. Also, the walk out to the boat for the cruise was a shaky one. They need hand rails along the long floating dock.
Other than that, we loved it. We can't wait to return! It's truly a great place to go and relax.
