Beautiful Inn but breakfast not bountiful A review of Camden Maine Stay Inn
The Maine Stay Inn is without a doubt the most beautiful inn we ever stayed in. It was built in 1802 and retains much of the original structure yet is modernized to satisfy the requirements of any guest. The room was outstanding; most notable was the high quality of the bed mattress. We had basically the full run of the first floor and there were plenty of cozy sofas and chairs to chat, watch TV, or read a book. The breakfast although delicious and prepared exquisitely, was only one course and we actually left a bit hungry. Breakfast consisted of juice and coffee and a French Toast entree with a fruit syrup compote but that was it. Most other inns have muffins, pastry, granola, coffee cake or breakfast breads to accompany the entree. I make this comment since this is the #1 B&B in Camden and is on the cover of Karen Brown's Inn Guide. The breakfast was just not commensurate with that degree of acclaim and honor.
