Beautiful Hotel beautiful people A review of Melia Bali Indonesia
We have just spent 14 nights at the Melia Bali and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have been lucky enough to stay in some very nice nice hotels around the world and the Melia will join my list of them.
The design of the accomodation blocks is such that there are tropical gardens just outside your door if you are a ground floor resident and I mean inside the hotel not on your balcony. The lighting is very romantic and subduded during the evening, both within the hotel and the grounds, it really is done well.
The rooms are nice but they did have a slight problem with their air conditioning making everything damp while we were there (they said it was the rainy season but the Hyatt next door had no problems.) The Restaurants are good and reasonable prices for a 5 star hotel. We went to the Tragia restaurant most mornings for our breakfast five minutes taxi drive next to the Tragia Supermarket.
We went with two lovely travellers Charlie and Joan from Jersey, they knew Bali very well and also introduced us to the Nylyan Restaurant in Bualu about 5 mins by taxi (£1.00). Both were great places to eat and cheap as anything with good food in return and a few laughs with the lovely locals.
The gardens and pool of the Melia really are good, the staff never stop cleaning and manicuring the lawns and surrounding areas. The beach bar is great, there was nothing like watching the sun go down with cocktail in hand, its a hard life!!! The staff there are really excellent and the food is very good. If you go say hi to Dewa, he is a very hard working and very nice guy and a credit to the hotel.
The cleanliness of the room is first class the cleaners work very very hard, we had a problem with some insects in our first room but they moved us straight away, the new room had no problems whatsoever.
If you do visit any of the hotels in Nusa Dua do try to make the effort to eat out from time to time as the locals really need the business and they are so nice you won't regret it one bit.
Bali is a wonderful holiday location and the Melia Bali is a wonderful hotel to visit, remember what I said as you walk into the lobby area when you arrive I dare you not to say WOW.
All in all a great holiday and I am already making plans to go back
