Beautiful hotel and excellent value A review of Lighthouse Inn at Aransas Bay
We just returned from four days at the Lighthouse Inn. The best part was sitting on the rocking chairs on our porch on the bay watching sea birds, sunrises and sunsets and moonrises over the water, and the oyster (later shrimp) boats come and go. We even saw dolphins rising from the water in the distance. The decor of the room and inn was superb - and I am particular about these things, as well as comfort. The beds are comfortable and there are Bath and Body Works toiletries that smell so good and Starbucks coffee in the room. We ate at several restaurants in the area, and all were good, but the meal at the Inn's restaurant was the best. The entire staff was friendly and genuinely seemed glad we were there. We took several day trips including birding and alligator watching at Aransas Natl. Willife Refuge - an hour or less away, and going to the Texas State Aquarium and seeing the USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier in nearby Corpus Christi, and were glad to come "home" each afternoon to sit on our porch and watch the boats come in. There is a lot to do in the area, and especially at this time of year, the rooms at the inn were a very good value.
