BASIC B&B OK A review of Hotel Olympik Tristar
I was part of a group of 34 young (and not so young) adults from a UK university visiting Prague from Monday to Friday as part of our degree course. We were booked and stayed at the Olympik for this period. We arrived at midday on the Monday to discover that the rooms were not available to us until 3pm and so we had to put all our luggage into their left luggage room (Rooms we discovered don't have to be vacated until midday hence the 3pm availability).
The rooms were basic with adequate washing facilities and TVs although there were some channel reception problems (Eurosport was the only English speaking channel available).
Breakfast was also adequate although if you wanted real orange juice it cost £1.50 for a small glass extra, every morning and there was never any jam available. Evening meals though were very variable in quality, one night a large quantity of "smash" potato was on offer together with fish fingers: not very appetising!
In addition while we were there the hotel (and others around it) were full with extremely immature, unruly and unbelievably badly behaved Italians. They were obviously on school trips but were completely unsupervised at night when they decided to smoke, drink and make as much noise as they could in the hotel much to our and others annoyance.
Suggest the hotel is best avoided unless you like loads of foreign screaming schoolkids around you!
