Bad Experience A review of Mountain Harbor Inn Resort On the Lake
This Bed & Breakfast would have been a bad experience at half the cost! The website gives you the impression of a quaint Inn located in the woods by a lake. In reality it is ten feet from a busy road with absolutely no curb appeal, and where traffic noise makes sleeping difficult. We should have been even more skeptical when we had to pay the balance of our bill before we were shown our rooms! When this was questioned as being unusual, the clerk said that this was their policy since there would be no additional charges - thank-goodness?
The "theme rooms" we had were relatively small and uncomfortable. Our bed was in a three sided cubicle, which required one person to climb over the other to get out. The love seat was uncomfortable and positioned by a light that was too low to use for reading, and located by the window unit air-condition that blew right on the person sitting there.
The Inn has no elevator, and provides no assistance with luggage . There are no phones. The shower had low water pressure and an over-sized shower head, so taking a shower was like washing in a weak rain. The lighting in the bathroom was so weak you could barely see, and the missing light bulb didn't help.
The personnel were friendly and polite, but don't expect hotel service. The waiter, reservation clerk, conceirge, etc. are one in the same person, and that person does have to leave to sleep at night.
