Back in Prague after 30 years A review of President Hotel Prague
A lot has changed in Prague over the last 30 years. Most significantly is the service and quality of the hotel we stay in. This time there is even hot water, long, strong, hot showers are one of the joys of travelling. sadly there was a bit of a leak and in spite of positioning the glass screen as carefully as possible, the bathroom floor turned into a wading pool. The cost of our breakfasts was included in the rate we got on-line and it was a very generous buffet with all the hot and cold selections anyone could wish for. Our beds were very large and comfortable and while the windows could be opened for fresh air, the sound of rubber car tyres over cobbled roads was a bit of a distraction to a good night's sleep. There is air-con, but it is a bit noisy too. The location is fabulous, facing the river and a short walk from all the Old Town attractions. Staff are helpful and smiling- mostly- while the breakfast rooms can get busy, the tables are cleared very promptly so you don't have to wait long (if at all) for a seat. Clean and generous sized rooms, no in-room tea and coffee facilities, but that seems the norm for Europe. I'd be very happy to send my friends there.
