Awful! A review of Hotel Olympik Tristar
This is definitely not 3 star hotel! We stayed at much nicer places in Germany and France for less than we paid here. It was not clean. There was actually dirt on the shelves in the closet. The sheets were not changed in 3 nights. We had to ask for soap and shampoo. Where was the "panoramic view of Prague", the "satellite TV". and the "international cuisine" as promised in the hotel's web description. We had a view of the parking lot from our extremely dark and dingy room. Our TV emitted shrieking noises that obliterated the sound. We asked to have it fixed three different times but to no avail. We ate at the "restaurant" in the hotel. We only made that mistake once, on the first day after a long flight and a drive from Germany. Too tired to look for a restaurant elsewhere. we partook of the buffet which was unappetizing and tasteless (unless you like frozen mixed vegetables, rice, potatoes, undescribable pasta, chicken wings and the same stale cake which they served for breakfast the next day). International CUISINE?? Breakfast wasn't too bad if you like watered down orange drink (which they described as juice) and didn't expect to partake of the cold meats which were reluctantly replenished. To assume that the two elevators would be operational would be expecting too much. One of them did not work at all during our stay. There were continuous busloads of teenagers from a variety of countries, and, though they were well behaved, it became very noisy and negotiating around them and their luggage in the lobby was a constant problem. We stayed at this hotel with another couple. None of us was impressed with the staff who wer neither polite or helpful. Happily, the hotels that we stayed in later, in Germany and France were a vast improvement and the people were wonderful.
